I am a qualified Supervisor working with counsellors, therapists and other professionals who benefit from a non-judgemental confidential space to reflect on and explore the demands of their role.
I supervise qualified and trainee counsellors and work at an individual's own professional developmental stage. I also offer supervision to professionals within other occupations, who benefit from exploring their working practice and any impact on them personally.
What is Supervision?
Hawkins and Shohet (2012) describe Supervision as:
"Supervision is a joint endeavour in which a practitioner with the help of a supervisor, attends to their clients, themselves as part of the client practitioner relationships and the wider systemic context, and by so doing improves the quality of their work, transforms their client relationships, continuously develops themselves, their practice and the wider profession."
With this in mind I offer supervision grounded within the person-centred philosophy, offering a space within which you are able to freely explore and reflect on your work and therapeutic and working relationships, also offering you support in taking care of yourself.
Qualifications and Experience
I have a Diploma for Counselling Supervision, Accredited by the European Centre for Psychotherapeutic Studies.
My experience includes working within the Education sector, NHS and Counselling agencies. I am an approved Supervisor with the National Counselling Society.
Fees
Supervisions fees are £40 per hour.
In order to work within BACP guidelines I would expect all Counselling supervisees to undertake 1.5 hours of supervision per month.
