Welcome to my website, I hope you are able to find the answers to your questions here, if not please get in touch.
Let me introduce myself – I am a qualified counsellor with a Diploma in Counselling validated by the University of Gloucestershire, a Diploma in Counselling Children and Adolescents and a Diploma in Counselling Supervision. I am also trained in REWIND trauma therapy. I hold a Certificate of Counselling Proficiency and am a registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and CCYP (Counselling Children and Young People). I am an Accredited Member of the National Counselling Society and an Approved Supervisor with them.
I have been counselling adults and young people in Private Practice since 2010, my counselling career began in 2005 volunteering for a Bristol Counselling agency and as a Secondary School Counsellor. I have worked within the education sector for over 20 years where I have had the privilege of working alongside many young people and adults. I have witnessed their growth and development despite, in many cases, having a number of challenges to overcome. This leads me to believe strongly in our capacity to heal, grow and achieve our full potential.
Before becoming a counsellor I worked in Human Resources and later in Careers Advice and Guidance and as a Learning Mentor. Although I enjoyed this work I felt that I could offer something more and so my career began as a Counsellor, working with adults, children and young people, both privately and within education. In addition to this, I work for a Counselling and Training Charity as Head of Training and also deliver training in listening and counselling skills.
In my spare time I really love walking with my two spaniels – oh and my family! I enjoy being by the coast or walking through woods and enjoying the wonder of the world around me. Being outside is one of my ways of relaxing and taking time to enjoy life. I also enjoy music, reading and whenever I can I love going to the theatre.
